Following a tough 2 years of lockdowns and restrictions we’re all a little too excited for what 2022 will bring us with an exciting year to come! So with the end of 2021 quickly approaching and thus 2022 will be upon us before we know it, here’s what looks to be some of the biggest trends for 2022…

#1 Anni-ceptions (Anniversary Receptions)

Off the back of lockdowns over the past couple of years. Lots of couples went ahead with smaller wedding ceremonies and reception parties whilst saving their large reception parties for their first year anniversary date. With restrictions being lifted for larger gatherings it’s a great way to have the big wedding reception you always imagined – on your first year anniversary!

#2 Earthy Nature Inspired Colours

With an increased focus on the environment and many people adapting a newfound appreciation for nature during the pandemic, eco vibes will be making more of a way into wedding themes for 2022. Bring on the colours of rust, burnt orange, terracotta, driftwood, neutrals and natural fabrics.

#3 Two Piece Wedding Dresses

According to Hitched, searches for two-piece wedding dresses went up by 176% this year, whilst searches for casual wedding dresses went up by 197% since last March!

#4 Inside Out Venues

Now this is one we’re a massive fan of! With the emergence of outdoor dining from the pandemic, bringing the inside outside with the touch of indoor furniture and decor to outside areas with touches like chandeliers to drapes…

#5 Bright & Bold

Another colour scheme to be a big hit for ‘22 is with an injection of colour! From Pink-Purple splashes, to earthy green, yellow Butter and tropical Mango bursts – inject some outstanding colour to your wedding decor.

#6 Virtual Save The Dates

With many couples having to make changes to their wedding dates over the past couple of years, virtual wedding invitations grew in popularity! Whilst the real romance of stationery can’t be replicated online, a virtual save the date followed by a physical invitation is a great modern solution.

#7 Laid Back Pre-Wedding Celebrations

Whether its a joint Hen & Stag do or a pre-wedding celebration, couples seem to be opting for more of a laid back get together, from a Boat BBQ to pre-wedding meze, a relaxed party to take a break from wedding planning may just be what you need.

#8 Regency Romance

There’s no doubt that Bridgerton was a massive obsession for most this year, and with the second season set to hit netflix in 2022, couples are just as obsessed with adding literary quotes, english style touches and pastel colours for a Bridgerton inspired wedding.
