Your date, your decor and almost every other element of your wedding will follow and depend upon your chosen Wedding Venue. As one of the most important and primary decisions that you’ll need to make when you begin to plan your wedding day, it’ll be the leading factor when it comes to selecting your wedding suppliers.

You’ve narrowed down your search to Cyprus, the gorgeous island in the Mediterranean, and now you’re zeroing in on Paphos. Here are some expert tips and ultimately the guide to helping you choose the best wedding venue for your big day…

#1 If you’re having a religious ceremony, first be sure to book your chosen place of worship.

Take a look at the 12th Century Church Panagia Odigitria (situated opposite Liopetro)

#2 Exclude any venue that cannot accommodate the number of guests you intend to invite

As beautiful as some venues are, the last thing you want to do is to have to cut down your guest list if your venue cannot hold such a number of guests.

Liopetro wedding venue can accommodate up to 350 guests for wedding receptions, and 200 for both ceremony & reception.

#3 Evaluate your non-negotiables

What are your non-negotiables for your wedding venue? If you want to avoid on-looking tourists in bikinis on your wedding day be sure to bear this in mind and avoid places close to holidaying locations.

Located in the village of Kouklia, Liopetro event venue is away from any prying eyes and tourists spots giving you full privacy in rural surroundings.

#4 Some venues book more than one wedding a day

Be sure to enquire with wedding venues about just how many weddings they host per day, to avoid any overlapping or issues that could affect your big day.

At Liopetro we pride ourselves on hosting just one event per day allowing you full use to your chosen venue areas.

#5 Find out about the venue’s catering options

In the case that some of your guests are vegetarian, celiac or have any other dietary restrictions, you’ll need to discuss with your venue their options and/ or if you can customise the menu to suit your needs. All of our menus are created by Michelin Star-Awarded Executive Chef Asimakis Chaniotis and are executed by our Head Chef Vangelis Nakopoulos. We’re proud to have been awarded the Gold Medal in the Venue’s Category in the Best Cyprus Food Awards for years 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022. Ask us for our food & beverage packages for 2024-2026.

#6 Do you want to party all night long?

Depending on the location of your wedding venue, there will be strict curfews on noise and music policy. At Liopetro our curfew is midnight giving you plenty of time to dance the night away. As of 2023 we’re introducing our new addition; a fully equipped club room with moving heads, brand new speakers and woofers so noise is not a problem anymore.

#7 If you’re visiting venues, visit no more than 3 in a day

No need to overload or rush yourselves!

#8 Does it fit your budget?

Make sure there are no hidden costs or small print that you’re missing so not to be caught off guard. All of our costs and fees are clearly mentioned within each of our packages in our brochures on our website.

#9 Will you need additional lighting?

There’s a difference between romantic & atmospheric, and dark & underlit! Ask us for our new Fairy Lights Brochure on our website.

#10 Look at their previous Real Weddings
