It may or may not be your first time to Cyprus, you may have visited all of the typical ‘hot spots’ and sights to see from Cape Greco to Blue Lagoon, mosaics to ruins. But have you really experienced the best that Cyprus has to offer you as Newlyweds? Create magical, romantic memories in your first few days as Husband and Wife with these unique experiences on the island…

#1 Love Lock Bridge

Secure your love in Cyprus by attaching a padlock as a symbol of your love to one of the island’s Love Lock Bridges – with one located in Paphos and one in Ayia Napa. Said to be a symbol of eternal love and fidelity, what better way to commemorate your marriage in Cyprus than with a personalised engraved padlock forever on the island of love.

#2 Sunset dinner

With so many amazing restaurants to choose from and so many amazing views on offer, it’s hard to pick just one that you must visit! What we will say however is if you haven’t experienced a meze or ouzeri before this should be on your agenda. A meze consists of up to 30 dishes from local dips and vegetables to meat/ grilled dishes all made up of traditional Cyprus dishes, whereas an ouzeri is of Greek origin and consists of lesser dishes that you can select from the restaurant’s seasonal menu. Perfect way for you to taste the local cypriot cuisine and take in a spectacular view of the mediterranean at the same time. #3 Winery

A whopping 52 wineries span across the island, making some truly beautiful wines in both white, red and rose varieties. Sample the local grape varieties (Xynisteri and Maratheftiko) among others in the company of the passionate wine makers at any one of the island’s wineries, tour the winery and maybe even book a trip to explore the vineyards! If wine’s not your tipple of choice, the island also offers Breweries & Distilleries that can be visited for tastings too with prior booking.

#4 Picnic at one of the dams

Surrounded by vast greenery and forest, Cyprus dams are great for a day out, especially if accompanied by a homemade picnic. Regardless of if you adorn your walking shoes and find a remote spot or park up, there’s many places to choose from for the perfect lunch date as newlyweds.
